The United States
1. Headline inflation for January was slightly cooler than consensus, while core inflation was in line with consensus.
• Here is a breakdown of year-over-year inflation by component.
• Supercore inflation stayed flat on a trailing 3-month basis, but jumped back up on a 6-month basis.
2. The CBO updated its long-term debt/GDP forecasts, with the 2055 figure now standing at 172%, up from 156% estimated last year.
